How do I stop advertising within Google Chrome after visiting a site

Example I go to the Dick Sportings good website and browse.  The next day when surfing I start to get Dick Sporting Goods advertisements blossoming on my web pages.  This happens all the time when visiting sites not just Dick's.  How do I stop this..

I can live with it..just an annoyance...
Late to the party but any legitimate advertising network including google will have an opt-out feature.
