One possibility is that it was not properly shut down. One method to fix this problem is to use the advanced recovery tools in Windows to troubleshoot the start up process.

You can also you a backup software like veeam to back up VMs.

If you have any other information about the start up process please let me know.

Thanks,

Hi Anthony, I've never had any luck with advanced recovery tools, seems to not be that useful. Hoping someone here knows a step in-between the recovery tools and restore. Pulling data from backups now, if there's a faster solution before restoring from backup thought we'd ask.
Under the recover tools using the command prompt you can use chkdsk /r, ideally this should be the first step when troubleshooting a failed restart.

Also having a battery backup solution would allow more time to shut down the servers before the power is lost.
