file sent through http
If I send a text document from location A to location B over the internet via HTTP and there was someone in between sniffing the traffic with wireshark, would they be able to see inside the text document? I do not believe the wireshark capture would be able to see inside a file or can it?
If they can view the transmission, they can see the file since HTTP sends it all 'in the clear'. If it was HTTPS, it would be encrypted and they would not be able to see anything.

Dave,
thank you. yes I am familiar with https. With http they will see the text file name but can they actually see the content of the text file too?
