Wireless printer loses connection on 5.Ghz side of router

I have an HP 7510 printer that includes wireless.  I installed a Netgear N750 WNDR4300v2 wireless router.  I can connected to the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz wireless networks through the router.  If I connect to the 2.4, I can print and scan with no issues.  If I connect to the 5Ghz network, I may be able to print one job, after which the printer loses connectivity.  Then, I must power off the printer and restart it to print or scan.   To keep using the printer, I would have do so continually.  Although I probably don't need 5Ghz speed, I connect to that network to avoid the issue with USB 3.0 interference with my Surface Pro 4 (Win 10).   Thanks.

Do you have anything else that is 5ghz that may be interfering with the network? Maybe a cordless phone? If you set it back to 2.4GHZ you can always change the channel to fix any issues with interference.

Thank you.  I do have an older cordless phone, but I don't know what channel it's on.  If I log in to the 2.4 network, I'll have the USB 3.0 issue.  It's not that easy to switch from 5 to 2.4 just to print.
There is no need to use the 5ghz for the printer. The print jobs will spool then print. I would stick with the 2.4ghz.
The printer wireless card may not be compatible. I have seen this before. Can you permanently switch the printer to the 2.4Ghz band.?

Better yet, ALL printers work better wired.
I just checked the HP website, your printer should be using the 2.4ghz wireless network. As per the site the HP expert said he is unaware of any printers that are compatible with 5Ghz.

Thanks.  I have to use the 5Ghz band to avoid the USB 3.0/wireless interference issue.  I rather be able to use the USB than the printer.  However, I found a solution.  I can access the printer if I attach it to the router by USB and use it as network printer.
