Windows 10 start menu broken

I have have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, and have periodically been receiving messages when clicking the start menu icon that the Start menu is not working and that it will attempt to fix it upon the next login.  It then logs me out.   Sometimes the start menu works, but the search field doesn't work.  Also, sometimes the wifi stops working, but running the appropriate driver install/repair utility fixes it.

I dread doing a reset because of  all of the applications I need to reinstall.  I've read about doing an in-place upgrade to repair the OS, but I'm not clear on how to get/generate the exact version/build ISO for the task

Also, the warnings about disabling Secure Boot concern me  because since I switched to a SSD boot drive, I have been unable to enter the BIOS/UEFI settings to turn off system protection, as it recommends.  I don't even know if secure boot is turned on, and F2 no longer brings up the choice to enter setup.

I have a Lenovo Z570  with 8 GB memory and a 500GB SSD, and Windows 10 Pro 64 bit upgraded with the upgrade offer many months before this problem started

This is the instruction I would like to follow.

http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html

My version and build is 1511 /  10586.218.

If I could ensure I have the right ISO, I'll give it a try.  I have good backups should things to south.

Any assist to get the right ISO would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any guidance here.

Hi John, Nobus

Thanks wholeheartedly  for your suggestions. I did check the memory, prior, but checked and upgraded the firmware. However the issues still existed. But thanks, nobus for your suggestion.  My firmware is now up to date.

So following the upgrade suggestion, the very easy and flawkess repair fixed all the issues.  Many thanks, John for your info. It was  Just what the doctor ordered.

Happy camper.
I am glad you got it fixed.
You should probably now close out the question. Thanks.
