Windows Photo Viewer (Win7)

I have never run into this, and not finding anything here or google.

When I try to print a photo from WIndows Photo Viewer, it works fine as long as I print to whatever is already selected by default.  Changing the default printer in Control Panel doesnt seem to affect this default.

If I try to print to any other printer, it scrolls back through the printers until it gets back to the default.  Every time.   I have tried replacing the photowiz.dll from another PC based on suggestions on failed Photo Viewer, but this did not make any difference.  Also tried logging on as a different user, but same results.

Printing from Paint or Word, etc, seems to work fine.  Just Photo Viewer.

Any ideas?

Try resetting the printer spooler. Or if that does not work, try removing the printer that you are trying to print and and reinstall it.

Have done the print spooler, and it happens with every printer except the one that is selected by default.  It literally scrolls back through the list to the default each time.
I've dealt with this before, it's a corruption of the operating system...uninstall the printer completely, do a repair installation of Windows 7, then reinstall the printer.
Its not one specific printer, its all printers other than the one it thinks is the default, and I can print normally in all other cases, its only in Photo Viewer that this occurs.   Not saying its NOT corrupted OS, but I have to think that if that was the case, I would not be able to print from anywhere.
Or you can remove all printers and drivers using print management. Stop the spooler and rename the folder under C:\windows\system32\spool   w32x86 or the x64    depending on the operating system. Then start the spooler and reinstall all the printers.
I appreciate all the suggestions, but I guess I am describing this wrong or something.  The printers all work.  I have uninstalled, cleared the spool folder, reinstalled, etc already before I posted my question.  I can print from any printer from ANY app except Photo Viewer.
Let's see if there are any issues with the system, why don't you do the following:

1. Click Start

2. Click All Programs

3. Click Accessories and right click on the Command Prompt.

4. Select the Security Tab and choose "Run as Administrator"

5. Click on Command Prompt

Type SFC /Scannow

I think your solution would be the faster way of resolving the problem. BUT.... let's try to fix this if you do not mind and see what's causing the problem. I would be interested to know what could be breaking photo viewers printing.
"I have tried replacing the photowiz.dll from another PC based on suggestions on failed Photo Viewer, but this did not make any difference."

Did you try re-registering the DLL?

https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/249873

If it doesn't fix the issue, try un-registering then registering it again.
The question as posted isnt being addresses unfortunately, so swapping out the PC is the best and fastest solution to this issue.
