Installing software (Snow) with GPO - error !
I have to roll out Snow client (Software Management) on all my clients (XP, Win 7, Win 8 and Win 10), most of them not local administrator. Domain controller is Windows Server 2003 R2.
I use a GPO for a limited amount of Computers (testing) on an OU.
I have made a share, which all users has read access to.
On Windows 10 I get these error:
Warning: The assignment of application Snow Inventory Client 3.7.03 from policy Snow Inventory Client Installation failed. The error was : %%1274
Error: The removal of the assignment of application Snow Inventory Client 3.7.03 from policy Snow Inventory Client Installation failed. The error was : %%2
On Windows 7 I get these errors:
The install of application Snow Inventory Client 3.7.03 from policy Snow Inventory Client Installation failed. The error was : %%1612
Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. Software changes could not be applied. A previous log entry with details should exist. The error was : %%1612
I have google for a lot of solutions, without any success...
Any hints?

What is the installation package? A exe or a msi? Can you run it manually (not via the GPO)?
ASKER
It is a msi package. Yes, I can install it manually

I can see some are referring to "Startup policy processing wait time".
Computer Configuration > [Policies] > Administrative Templates > System >Group Policy > Startup Policy Processing Wait Time
But this option is not available in Windows 2003 Server domain controller - so I cannot set this value in my GPO.
