Assistance configuring iSCSI on ESXi, HP Switches, and Powervault SAN

Hello Experts,

I have come across an environment that I need to configure with two ESXi 5.5 hosts (HP Proliants) with two HP 2920-24G switches between them and the Dell Powervault 3220 san.

We normally configure VMware environments using Dell servers, Equalogic SANs, and Powerconnect switches. Dell provides configuration guides for any of these configurations involving an Equalogic, that can be found here:
http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/storage/w/wiki/3615.rapid-equallogic-configuration-portal-by-sis

However, I am not familiar with either the the Powervault nor HP switches. Dell provides memkit scripts to set up multi pathing on the ESXi hosts. On the switches they recommend a LAG or stack between the two, enabling jumbo frames, enabling flow control, and storm control.

I am beginning to look through the white papers now to determine best practices on the configuration for iSCSI on the switches, SAN, and hosts to allow multipathing and best possible performance. However, if anyone has worked with similar equipment, it would be very helpful to have any guidance. Thank you.

Thanks Andrew.

One thing I did not see in your guide to configuring multipathing is the path selection. The Memkit configures this as a dell proprietary path selection. Should we choose round robin?

In regards to the HP switches I am not familiar with their CLI, but besides enabling jumbo frames, what else needs to be in place to avoid packet drops, ie; storm control and flow control? Thank you.
