Citrix Publish Applications?
Hi,
we have 2 servers in a Xenapp 6.5 farm. I have almost installed same applications on both servers. My question is do i need to set users permissions for published app on both servers? e.g
server 1 = office 2013 - set permissions using security group "Office Access"
server 2 = office 2013 - set permissions using security group "Office Access"
is the above correct and if so will this not publish office icon twice in user session?
Thanks

In XenApp 6.5, I would recommend you create a Worker Group that contains both servers. You then publish the app from that worker group. Users will only see one icon for the office products you publish.
As Carl mentioned, you can create a worker group and set the access or you can publish the app and add multiple servers under Servers/Worker Groups \ group to publish the app.

how to set this worker group up and anything else i should be aware of since my servers currently are not in worker group, so when i move them into worker group will this effect connected users/permissions etc...?
Thanks
Thanks
Creating a Worker Group effects no servers or users or applications or sessions or connections or _____.
Right-click the Workers Group node and select Create. You can use OU or farm servers and one other option I can't remember off the top of my head to based your worker group on. A server can be a member of multiple worker groups.
When you publish or update a published application, on the servers part, you can select servers or worker groups.

Ok thanks, but am still struggling to understand how this works, e.g i am publishing "cmd.exe" and when i get to the location bit and click browse to specify the command line path it shows both servers in the farm.
i have to choose one, so in theory its that server publishing, so how does this work? (see attached)
Thanks

hmmm, well thats an issue, hence why i asked anything i need to be aware of, unfortunately the server applications are not in the same drive/path but some are, so does that mean i can only use this on the applications that are same path/drive etc?
Is there an alternative method to do this? or am i stuck with publishing apps and living with two shortcut icons in webinterface?
Thanks for your help so far...
