We have a project with using Apple IOS device (i.e. iPhone, ipad) running IOS 9.X OS as a VPN client to connect to the company VPN gateway. All Apple IOS device are Not jailbreak and they are using both Wifi or 3G wireless connectivity. We have difficulty to find a DNS utility or mechanism on IOS with the following functions:<br />

1) Able to run basic NSLOOKUP function.<br />
2) Able to check the existing DNS server assigned. <br />
3) Able to change DNS server for DNS lookup<br />

Apple IOS DNS lookup

Apple's early computers ran on a variety of operating systems, including a Pascal version and one based on CP/M, before releasing its ProDOS with the advent of its 16-bit computer. With the release of the Lisa, which had its own OS, Apple and computing entered the graphical age; it was followed by the Macintosh, which offered a series of "System" operating systems. VPNs encapsulate data transfers using secure cryptographic methods and other security mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that the data cannot be intercepted.
