WSUS Error on Windows 2012 R2 Server

Hello all,
I installed WSUS on a 2012 R2 server three months ago and it has been working great.  I did the database as a WID.
I rebooted the server that WSUS is on and now when I try to go into WSUS I get an error that states:
Cannot connect to XXXSERVER.  SQL server may not be running on the server.
I restarted IIS, WID and WSUS services but that did not fix it.
What do I need to do to fix this?

Does the user have access to the SQL db?

Well this led me down the right road.
Update KB3159706 on Server 2012 R2 where you have WID for WSUS will break WSUS until you uninstall it.
Thanks alot Microsoft!

Make sure after you uninstall KB3159706 that you reboot the server.
There are two other KB's to uninstall which are 3148812 and possibly 3161606
