Facebook marketing help

I am not savvy on social networking. A few days ago a client contracted a marketing company to manage their social networking. I noticed, just on the Facebook posts, a marked increase in both reach and ‘Likes’ which on their control panel are marked as ‘organic’ as opposed to ‘paid’. I am stumped and feel a bit lost. I was making posts to little avail yet they come in and make similar posts and get many times greater reach and on top of that improve the ‘like’ by hundreds. What makes their posts more potent than mine. Is there a secret I should know?

They are using Hootsuite, which since then I too have bought and paid for, but not to the same effect.

I need help!

You need to create a Facebook page to market yourself. Once the page is created have your Facebook friends like it. Once all the likes are on there, it will start appearing on their walls too. See the referenced link below on how to create your own page.

There is a lot of science to social marketing. Differences may including timing of posts, use of specific trigger words, piggybacking off trending topics, and many other factors. I can't really give you a good answer in a short post; if you really want to learn the ins-and-outs of social marketing, there are lots of good books as well as online training courses.
