Windows Vista for Business Cannot Delete all files in the software distribution folder.
Was told I needed to remove files under Windows\Software Distribution by Mark Wood on here and when I tried I was not able to remove all of them. I got all of them but the
Data Store folder which is 450 mb and the ReportingEvents.log
Says I do not have permission. Do I need to simple log off switch to an Admin.....which consequently I thought I was one. When I go to switch user it does not show the Admin. It shows my name which I am pretty sure has admin rights.
Any help appreciated. Apparently the updates are big cause I deleted over 750 mb of files.

I gave myself full control on every user and admin everywhere. Then tried to do it after the permissions change warning. Then closed and reopened File Explorer. Still wont let me. Now just restarted and tried and still nothing.
I get the error this action cannot be completed because this folder is open in another program. Even though I have closed the Windows Update window. Wonder if it is still somehow running in the back ground. If that is the culprit possibly. Where can I go to do that.

Ah I see again said the once blinded man. Forgot all about that one mr. McKnife. That makes sense. I closed everything went to right click on the status bar at the bottom right to get the task bar up. And I can see the little green square icon at the bottom the CPU is pegged out by something. I got the Service stopped from Windows Update so thank you Mr. Wood. Now I have set the Service to Disable.
I will restart and delete the files under the Windows \ Software Distribution folder ..... all of them.
Then restart again just because I am difficult to work with anyway. Then I will try to see what if anything is pegging out my CPU as a simple check to see what is wrong with that. Then I will attempt to close anything suspect. Go to the Windows Update Service restart and set it to Automatic.
Ill see if that works.
