Internet Extremely Slow on DC Server
Hi Guys,
We've recently installed a Dell T130 - Windows 2008 R2 server (64bit). The internet on the server is extremely slow in comparison with a workstation that is connected to the same router. The server has two NICs, one for internal (LAN) and another for external traffic (WAN - internet) ... testing in both Firefox and IE.
1. I updated NIC firmware and drivers to the latest available.
2. I did some DCDiag tests and the DNS resolves correctly. Forwarders are (1) router, (2) ISP DNS
3. I installed DHCP on the server (although not necessary, all static IP's)
4. Swopped server LAN cable and LAN port on the router
5. Google and Google look-ups load very fast, although links take very long ... loading the page
6. I installed 2 x 3rd party apps, which I stopped, but did not affect slow browsing
Any ideas / help will be appreciated,

I am a little closer to finding a solution.
I disabled the LAN interface and suddenly no internet, although the WAN interface is connected to the router with the correct gateway, internal DNS, etc. Server can access the router config just fine.
I changed the DNS on the WAN interface from "internal DNS" to "router DNS" and viola internet works and is fast!
Enabling the LAN interface slows the internet down again ... even with the ISP DNS still in the WAN interface. Pulling out the LAN cable doesn't make any difference.
I've tried switching LAN and WAN interfaces, but problem persists.
Is there a way to rebuild the interfaces without damaging some server roles?
I will probably have to reconfigure DNS role?

TCP stack is the boss!
Working like a charm, thank you!

- I've set the ECN capability to "disabled"
- Also "disabled" the LHhosts option on the external NIC
... Restarted the server, but still the same problem. IE takes about 10 seconds just to bring up the security warning. About 30 seconds to open a plain HTML site. Workstation side (4 seconds).
I'm trying to use / figure-out Wireshark to pick up the http traffic on the server to determine perhaps where the delay is coming from.
