Just to Clarify, I am talking about using an on premise exchange 2013 server as the primary and O365 as the failover should a DR situation happen.<br />

We have O365 licenses and an O365 tenancy and Exchange online is an option for us, but....<br />
Our parent company has decided we are not allowed to use exchange online for having our mailboxes.<br />
Not ideal, but the same licenses cover us for on-prem usage anyway, licenses sorted (a little while overdue:()<br />
<br />
We are planning on running the on-prem server in hybrid mode with o365 and spool our incoming email through o365.<br />
<br />
Should a disaster happen (I live in a country and city where a natural disaster is when it s going to happen not if) does anyone know of a way we can utilise our o365 exchange to work as failover? <br />
Can we set up DAG to o365?<br />
Anything else you might be using that could help me out with this investigation?<br />

Using O365 as a DR Solution

Exchange is the server side of a collaborative application product that is part of the Microsoft Server infrastructure. Exchange's major features include email, calendaring, contacts and tasks, support for mobile and web-based access to information, and support for data storage.

Office 365 is a group of software plus services subscriptions that provides productivity software and related services to its subscribers. Office 365 allows the use of Microsoft Office apps on Windows and OS X, provides storage space on Microsoft's cloud storage service OneDrive, and grants 60 Skype minutes per month. Office 365 includes e-mail and social networking services through hosted versions of Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, SharePoint and Office Online, integration with Yammer, as well as access to the Office software. All of Office 365's components can be managed and configured through an online portal; users can be added manually, imported from a CSV file, or Office 365 can be set up for single sign-on with a local Active Directory using Active Directory Federation Services.
