iMac 27" 3 Beeps on boot.
Hi!
I have an iMac 27" (Model 12,2) that powers on, and I can start into the Apple Hardware Diagnostics. I've let it run overnight doing a full test, and the diagnostics say all is well.
If I try to load into anything else, it gives me a beep code of 3 beeps, 5 second pause, then it continues to look at me with the silly apple logo in the middle of the screen and it keep beeping 3 times. It won't load anything beyond this - except the hardware diagnostics.
I've replaced the RAM, same problem.
I've tried new RAM, same problem.
I've tried replacing the motherboard, same problem.
What am I missing?
Can I stick RAM in any of the slots? I've tried moving them around.

I did reuse the same CPU when replacing the motherboard. I'll try this as a last option. Help me out here, which CPU should I be buying for this unit if all else fails to resolve it? it was covered in the heat transfer goop so I couldn't read the details on the processor.
Nothing USB plugged in (even keyboard and mouse)
the RAM I'm using is the PC3-10600 DDR3 RAM. I'm going to go buy more RAM in hopes that all 4 modules that I've tried just happen to coincidentally be bad.
I'll try unplugging the SSD. I do have an SSD in there - probably a detail I should have mentioned :)
Thanks guys, I'll update this post as soon as I try these.

Please keep us posted.
I am not sure which CPU you should use. Can you clean it gently with isopropyl alcohol?
I don't think I believe all 4 new sticks would be coincidentally be bad. That would be strange indeed.

The new logic board had a bad slot, the OS X CD I was using to reinstall must ALSO have been bad and caused the 3 beeps after booting (odd, I know, but tried another CD and it worked), AND it had a bad video card.
This was a fun one!
Thank you all!

Thanks. That is a lot of coincidental hardware issues at one time.
This is RAM data check issue. Here is the official Apple list: Link.
Hope this helps.
