Recovering a data from an hard disk which was dropped.
Hi
We have a WD external hard disk ( with lot of very valuable data) and it was dropped and brought to me. When I connect the Hard disk to a USB port, the computer detects the hard drive and can and when open I can see various folders. When I try to copy and paste the folder, it says it that the drive is not accessible and sometimes the PC don’t respond.
When it is connected to the PC, I can hear a tick tick sound sometimes. So not sure what is happening inside the disk. Is there a way to recover the data? I was thinking to buy a similar hard disk and swap the platters.
Please suggest.
