WDS Configuration
My colleague was helping me repair my WDS (Window 2008 R2 64). She copied all her Images on a ext. HD from her site and uploaded them over to my WDS server when she came to town. When I PXE boot my target laptop I get her MENU/packages pulling from her site and not mine. I looked at the scripts but I cannot find where to edit the pointers. any ideas?
Hi,
I think you need to replace the "Install Images" under WDS>Expand server>Install Images. Cause may be you would have copied the install images from the other site. Replace this with your own images.

the images are good images. the problem is the menu is pulling the images choices from a different server. I need to find where its saying to pull from that particular server and replace it with my server. I looked at all the scripts and didn't see the name of the other server. on the TASK SEQUENCE it shows my choices of which image I want to deploy. the choices I get are the choices from the other server not mine. mine is similar but not the same.
You need to check what images are listed in Boot Images section of WDS - that's what creates the menu entries when you PXE boot
So she must have copied her boot images to that folder - remove those and leave your entries and you will be back to normal...

Can it see the disks? When you press Finish on that screen you get a command prompt
Type these commands and see if it can see the actual drive...
diskpart
list disk
What does it show - can you see a drive listed? If not you have an issue with storage controller drivers which you will need to import into your boot image to get access to the disk..
If you do see the disk listed then we'll need more info from the logs - have you central logs setup on your MDT server?
Lastly - the original question has been answered so technically this is now a new question - you may need to ask as a new question and close this one out...

Ok so now we need the logs(sorry last message I didn't notice the command prompt listed x: as the host letter...so yes if you saw a c: it probably is the drive)
Info on where to locate the logs - http://techthoughts.info/troubleshoot-mdt-deployments-with-log-files/
