AutoCAD 2007 and .NET Framework
I have a client who uses AutoCAD 2007. He upgraded his PC, in order to be ready for the latest version of AutoCAD. Of course, it will take some time to get up-to-speed on the latest version, so he needs to continue using AutoCAD 2007 on his new PC.
To be specific, it is AutoDesk Architectural Desktop 2007 that I'm trying to install.
I was able to install it the first time I tried, but I didn't realize that it did not include Express Tools, which is required.
When we ran a Change on AutoDesk and selected Express Tools, it indicated that .NET Framework was not installed.
I've downloaded various versions of .NET (3.5.1 built into Win7, 4.0 and 4.5.1). No combination that I've found allows me to install Express Tools.
Does anyone have any suggestions for resolving this?
Thanks, Rick

According to http://www.appliedtg.com/techblog/index.php/2011/04/17/which-net-framework-does-autocad-need/
AutoCAD 2007/AutoCAD LT 2007 requires .NET Framework 2.0
Also, https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-remove-and-reinstall-the-Microsoft-NET-Framework.html says
....NET 3.5.1 installer will also install 2.0 and 3.0
You may want to reinstall the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.51 per the same link.

according to AutoDesk .NET 2.0 is not supported on any version of AutoCAD.

So i would still uninstall AutoCAD, uninstall .NET 2.0 if its installed, install the latest version of .NET, then install AutoCAD 2007 and see if it detects that .net is installed, otherwise if there is no .NET or it thinks its the wrong version it will attempt to install the version on the disc.

I found the Longbow software through a recommendation from a friend, not from the suggestions provided.

I used the Longbow Converter v9. It worked very well, but please make sure to follow their instructions. Not difficult, but a few steps involved.
I would uninstall AutoCAD, install .NET from the disc, run windows update to get any new .NET updates, reboot and then run the install of AutoCAD.
