150Gb is up near the limit for a site collection database or potentially past (200Gb limit if Site Collection has it's own DB, and 100Gb if it shares DB with other site collections).<br />

The number of sub folders is fine, as is the number of items. (How big are the individual items, nothing over 2Gb?)<br />

So, I would create a new Site Collection with it's own Content Database to add this content to. A Document Center template would handle the volume best.
