Printing causes apps to not respond

A client called today saying she could not print. In troubleshooting anything you send to print regardless of the printer i select and set as default fails. I tried a PDF, Excel file and Word doc. Once you select print that doc freezes and goes to not responding. But if I send a test page the any printer it prints. I checked her spooler and it is running. I'm a little stomp as this is machine specific to that one user.

Thanks in advanced for our input

Make a new, test Windows User Profile (Account). log into the new account and test. This is easy to do and will let you know if a profile error exists.

If it is the profile how can that be fixed because creating a new pofile is not the route we can take
Profiles cannot be repaired. If testing indicates profile error, the only fix is to back up the data, delete the profile and re-create.
Take a look in Task Manager and see if something is running a really high CPU usage when you print. You did have her try it from a fresh boot didn't you?
