Copying and Pasting Passwords

Hello:

Up until recently, I have never had any issues with copying a password from a Word document and pasting it into an app.

But, I have noticed that the last two passwords that gave me trouble with this process end in an exclamation point.

Does Word, then, only put a space at the end of a copied set of characters if the final character is an exclamation point?

Thanks!

But, I have another password that I copy and paste.  It works every time, and it does not have an exclamation point at the end.

So try my method with the text with the exclamation mark.
I certainly will.  Thanks!  Much appreciated!

I would like to know, though, if this copying and pasting issue only occurs with passwords that end in exclamation points.  With other passwords, I don't seem to have any trouble.

Thanks!

Just saying: sometimes Paste is disabled in some password fields.

To test this out, try pasting a password (even if it is not the correct one) into the particular password field that refuses the password ending with the exclamation mark!
Hi:

No, the paste is not disabled in the fields of the apps that I work with.

Is there any particular reason that you have to use Word as opposed to plain text in Windows Notepad?  There is less chance of capturing extraneous hidden characters when copying from plain text in notepad.  I have a few of my less used usernames and passwords in a text file that is inside a passwrd-protected ZIP file, but a more secure method of copying passwords to paste into web logins is with utilities like KeyPass.  One of the features is that it clears the clipboard, which is an area that could be accessed by malware and malicious websites.
Did you try the exacting method I posted?   I tend not to use Word for passwords as also suggested above.
Hi All:

Notepad does now add a space.  Is that correct?

What's strange is that I have only seen this issue with Word occur, if I am dealing with a password that has a question mark at the end.

Otherwise, I have been able to copy from Word fine.

I'll continue testing the first method outlined, earlier, as soon as I can.

Thank you!

Whoops!  I messed up in my most recent posting.  Here is what I meant to say:

Notepad does not add a space.  Is that correct?

What's strange is that I have only seen this issue with Word occur, if I am dealing with a password that has an exclamation point at the end.  Does anyone have any idea why that is?

Thanks!
