Mail stuck in Outbox after beeing able to send about 80 emails with Outlook
We are using Outlook 2013 with a Gmail account. We create a mail merge where our contacts are in an Excel file. Before doing the merge, we set Outlook to work offline to make a last verification before the mails are sent. Then once we have finished our check-up, we set it back to Work Online, then force a send & receive.
Outlook start to send emails, then when about 80 emails are sent, the progress bar doesn't move anymore.
Even if i cancel the operation, then force a send & receive again, it doesn't restart.
I've got to close Outlook, answer "Quit Without Sending", then open it again and everything start to send for another 80 emails.
Anyone can help me to solve this problem?
Thanks you

I hear you. I kept blaming GoDaddy but like you said the "fix" seems to be closing and re-opening Outlook unless you want to wait forever. Your on 2013 and I'm on 2016. I will be very curios to see what other input you get.
I am going to start the "couple every hour" tomorrow morning. I will keep a count this time and let you know how many get sent before they start sticking in the outbox.

well, i've wait for an hour and it was still stuck.
Tomorrow i've a last bunch of emails to send, then i'll be able to make more test to see if if leaving outlook open for few hours will solve the problem, but i'm sure it won't do any changes.
I had to send about 4000 emails in the last few days because we are launching a new version of web site & of our software. Closing & Opening Outlook so many times is really annoying

I thought about this too David, but according to bulk sending policy of Gmail, a single account can send 2000 emails per day. If you go over that limit, it will stop sending and you get a Quota Exceeded error. 24h later, this flag is removed and you can send another 2000 emails. I'm sending these emails since a couple of days and the very first emails i've sent, i had this problem.

GoDaddy limits you to 250 emails per day. GMail might be limiting you but I was under the impression that the problem starts with the first 80 doesn't it? Gmail shouldn't even flinch at the first 80 or even 200.

Sorry it took me a while because i can't send mass mail more than once a month.
@LockDown32: It has nothing to do with GoDaddy. We just use GoDaddy to resolve our server ip name. I'm not using their mailbox. We use Google for Businness for our mailbox and it allow us to send about 2000 emails per day if my memory is good and i was planning to send 1500 per day since i don't want to hit that 2K limit.
@Dave Baldwin: No CC or BCC. But still... it shouldn't stop after 80 emails.
FYI: When my computer send individual emails for invoicing, i usually put my Outlook Offline, then start my invoice software to put them all in my Outbox folder. Then i watch the result and make sure it look ok, then i switch Outlook to Online. Then they all send without any problem (Over 400 invoices).
The problem occur only when i use the mail merge. I work mostly the same way (put outlook offline, produce the mail merge which add emails in Outbox, then watch the result, and switch Outlook to Online again, and that's where it screwed up all the time after 80 emails.

Look like there's no real solution for Outlook. Mailchimp and other bulk mailing service might be the only solution to this problem. CC&BCC could do the trick too but i've not tried this method since i don't know how to merge a bunch of emails into BCC using the Mail Merge function.
Were you ever able to figure this out? I am having the same problem.

@Scott Conser, Sorry, i didn't found the solution for this. I've decided to ditch Outlook and use Mailgun for mass mail. I rarely code to send using Outlook anymore.

I'll let it go again but what bug me is that it start instantly as soon as i restart Outlook which lead me to think that Gmail is not the problem.
(It's an IMAP account, i don't know if it make a difference. It's probably slower, but not that much)
