CentOS vs RHEL

We are currently using RHEL... Considering using CentOS... My understanding is that it pretty much works the same as RHEL, but you don't have to pay to continue to receive updates.  (Though you would have to either support it yourself or pay a third party to support it for you)

I know my way around basic stuff, but sometimes need expert support.  (I maybe call RHEL support a couple times a year)

What would be good for me to know as I consider if we want to switch to CentOS?

Is it considered as secure for business use as RHEL?

Thanks!  By security I mean like in terms of patches, yum updates, etc  Will CentOS take longer for critical updates to be available via yum than RHEL?  Or is it the same?
