Windows 10 after a few weeks causing my keyboard and mouse to lock up.

In the beginning everything was fine and like the original issue I had when Windows 10 (I went back to WIN 7 now back to Win 10)  was installed my keyboard and mouse keep locking up. I made no changes and I have not seen an update in many days. I am using a logitech wireless mouse and keyboard. Yes I swapped out for a wired keyboard and mouse I still have the same issue. Any ideas??

You can try a few things. The first two I do not think will resolve it.

1. SFC /SCANNOW from an admin command prompt. Allow to complete, restart and test.

2. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth (takes 15 - 20 minutes). Restart and test.

3. Windows 10 allows you to do a fresh install from the Media Creation Link. You can and should keep data. You can decide whether to keep applications (and potentially a legacy application) or to not keep applications, test and install applications after, making sure each application is the newest version.

When you do this, drivers are installed in the step for deciding what to keep.

I have used this method and it has fixed problems for me.

Thanks John, I just did a full backup of all my data. All my apps are the latest. I will try these steps after work and see how it goes.
Please let us know. If you decide to re-load applications, load Microsoft Office first, then Adobe, then wait a bit.

It is allow possible Windows 7 Driver helper applications are causing the issue, so may sure these are uninstalled.

I would test with as few applications loaded as I could. That helps me narrow down errors.
This is the 3rd time I am doing this. The first time was an upgrade, the second time I used the tool to do a clean install, this time Windows 7 was upgraded again and back to my original problem with keyboard and mouse issues. Is there a tool out there that I can use to see if I need a bios update. I have a gigabyte motherboard in this machine, with an Intel I7 processor.
See if you can get (from the manufacturer) BIOS, Chipset and Video upgrades that you can apply.
John, I think I am going back to Win 7. What was the solution you had to stop Win 10 from installing.  I will accept that as the fix for my problem here. Thanks again for the help!

Thanks John!
You are very welcome and I was happy to help.
John if I could give you 1000 points I would. Who new it was this easy to block Windows 10. :)
Thanks!   I discovered GWX Control Panel in trying to ensure my Windows 7 Virtual Machine did not ever upgrade.
