Windows Monitor Calibration - Can't get white in phototshop
I'm using an ancient copy of photoshop elements, I 've just installed it on a new PC and the white is yellow/cream.
When I go to the Adobe Gamma app, whatever I do, if I push the gamma to get a white in the photoshop UI, the screen is completely blown out....I am a bit colour blind but I can't see how to make photoshop white when the rest of the screen's whites are white.

Its a laptop with an external monitor.
Why would normal whites are white (like this EE textbox) , but the photoshop's white is yellow?

try reseating it - or test with another monitor
for a laptop - you could check it on an external monitor
you can also try installing the latest video driver
