Can downarrow, uparrow, rightarrow, leftarrow be one word?
Can:
downarrow
uparrow
rightarrow
leftarrow
be expressed as one word in a technical doc. (e.g. a user manual)?
Dictionary.com contains only uparrow:
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/uparrow?s=ts
My Word spellcheck flags righarrow,but seems to OK the rest.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Steve

They can from a purely "is this acceptable spelling" standpoint, but I would use either the two letter word format or, better yet, icons.

@Jason
By two-letter word format, do you mean "down arrow"?
@Joe,
So, "down arrow" or "down-arrow"?
Thanks.

OK, maybe I should have been clearer. it's not the down arrow or up arrow key, but a down arrow on the screen next to, say, a column header. e.g.
Amount Due^
The context might be:
"An up arrow next to a field indicates it is sorted in ascending order."
Thanks!
