MS Paint - Paste 2nd image below original image

Hey Everyone,

MS Paint under Windows 10:

I need to combine two screenshots in Paint because of issues with obtaining my data.

One screenshot contains only the header for a chart. The header includes the date e.g. "May 20, 2016". (I extracted it by selecting a portion of the screen with the May 20 header/data.)

The second contains only the data for June 3, 2016. (I extracted it by selecting a portion of the screen with the June 3 header/data.)

I wish the result to be:
<May 20 Header>
<June 3 Data>

While I found some content on the Internet per combining photos side-by-side, I did not see anything per combining images (I'm using that word interchangeably with "photos") one-below-the-other. Can I even perform this operation in Paint?

Thanks,
Steve

@Joe:
Thanks for your suggestions. One of these days, I need to find the time to play around with the cool imaging software out there.

@Brian:
Thanks for your response. I went with Word.  I had to play around with the size of the image(s) to get them to align horizontally, but now I have what appears to be a workable image within a DOCX file.

So now, what's the best way to convert it back to a single PNG. Use something like the Windows Snipping Tool to take a "screenshot-of-the-screenshots" and then save as PNG?

@Joe -
Thank you for your generous offer! :) I am going to try first to use the snipping tool. (For one thing, the images are somewhat proprietary.) That said, thank you for taking the time to provide these detailed instructions.  I especially appreciate the care you took to boldface commands, etc. As a Tech Writer, I notice things like that. :)

Steve
Steve,
You're welcome. And thanks to you for the compliments — I appreciate hearing them! Regards, Joe
Joe, just to be clear before I assign points:
Do you consider your extensive comment: ID: 41644203
a complete solution for combining screenshots?

Brian, I pulled it off in Word. I had to massage the size of the screenshot(s). Then, I used the Snipping Tool to take my image. Not high-tech, I know but it got the job done. :)
Hi Steve,
I consider post 41644042 a complete solution using GraphicsMagick or ImageMagick. They both do exactly what you want with the montage feature. I consider post 41644203 a complete solution using IrfanView. It does exactly what you want with the Thumbnails>Create contact sheet feature. Regards, Joe
Which one do you think is better?
Each is better in its own way. The first post is better in that it refers to two articles with extensive information about GraphicsMagick. The second post is better in that it contains within the post itself a more comprehensive, stand-alone answer. I'm not concerned about the number of points. Whatever number you were thinking of giving me, cut it in half and give to each of the posts, making both of them Assisted Solutions, but each with half the points that you were contemplating for one of them. Thanks, Joe
Somehow I lost my closing comment so trying again.

@Brian - Thank you. Your Word solution worked. While I did need to massage the width of the screenshot(s) to make them the same, I did not mind. :)

@Joe - Normally, I don't assign points for untested solutions. However, you gave so much good info/recommendations that I wanted to acknowledge your efforts. Thank you as well.

Steve
I would have suggested PowerPoint instead of Word for the quick fix approach. I find PowerPoint better for manipulating images than Word.

I frequently use client provided environments where i can't install software so one "makes do" with such approaches.
Steve,
Thanks for selecting my posts as Assisted Solutions — I really appreciate it! Regards, Joe
Appreciate the explanation as well, thanks Steve.
