RDP This computer can't connect to the remote computer
I have been looking here and several other places but cannot find an answer to this issue. The situation is a little different than the ones I have found so far.
I'm trying to connect to a server that has been newly created. Myself and others cannot connect to the server using remote desktop. I have tried IP and DNS record. I have tried multiple users, nothing gets me past the error. This is happening to myself and another co-worker. It seems that another user is able to access the server. Our desktops run windows 7 enterprise, servers are 2012 R2, I can connect to other servers running 2012 R2, in fact if I go to one of those servers I can access the new

Have you configured these users to allow remote desktop access? If you are trying to manage the server, you do this by right-clicking the Start Menu, select "System", and then "Remote Settings" on the left-hand side.

The problem was with server hardening.
So we needed to upgrade the RDP client.
