How do I create an image of a MAC that I can deploy?

All,

I have been tasked with creating an image so it can be deployed to about a dozen new MACBook Pro's. Does anyone have an instructions on how to do this. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I need to drop the image on an existing server they have. Would that be possible?

@Serial band that's what they are using to deploy the images. I assume once I make the images I just copy the  image up to the server? Or do I use deploy studio to make them?
You should be able to just copy the images.  You could have also set the repository on Deploy Studio to point directly to the server.
They have images up there already they just do not work with the newer machines.
Edward, Macs will typically not boot with OS's older than the one they shipped with. So if their images have an older OS than the ones the new Macs shipped with, they will not work with the new Macs until disk images have been updated to the current OS.
I thought you mean backing up the images, as in saving the file so that you recovered it.  Strung is correct.  newer systems will not accept older OS X images.  You'll have to create a new image.
Thanks guys!
