Hyper v NIC Teaming and v Switch
I lost connection to a remote server and trying to see what happened.
I was setting and configuring this new server and started to play around with creating NIC team and v switch.
NIC ports on an intel add on card: 4
Onboard NIC Card: 2
Created NIC team 1: 1 onboard + 3 from Intel
Works great.
Now I wanted to assign a static IP to this new Hyper V server - 2012 R2 Std.
So I thought of doing some fault tolerance and created a second NIC team:
localserverNICTeam: Onboard NIC1 + Intel NIC 1
Now I tried to assign a static IP addressing by doing following steps:
1. Created an External vSwitch and selected the Multiplexer#2 for choosing the second nic team : localserverNICTeam
Checked the box that says - allow communication with management network.
2. Under control panels - network connections - RIght click on this vSwitch and assigned IP addressing as:
IP 10.11.3.10
proper subnet and gateway and dns servers.
I lost connection but after sometime the remote server came up.
Now the issue is I can RDP to this server from other computers but I cannot ping it. What could be the issue here ?

Is new NIC placed in new network (public instead of private or domain) so there is been used new firewall profile?
