asked on

how to remove a cluster object of a previous Hyper-V cluster.

We've destroyed our Hyper-V 2012 R2 cluster recently.

A new cluster (not the same name) has been created.  It's running well.

But We got this message
Error      CLUSTER_HV3 : Configuration refresh failed with the following error: The metadata failed to be retrieved from the server, due to the following error: WinRM cannot process the request. The following error occurred while using Kerberos authentication: Cannot find the computer CLUSTER_HV3.domain.com. Verify that the computer exists on the network and that the name provided is spelled correctly.

CLUSTER_hv3 is the name of the previous cluster that has been destroyed.

This object has been deleted from AD.  But for a reason or another Windows still try to find this cluster object.

Thank you

Did the operating system on the nodes get a fresh build?

Elevated PoSh from all nodes and copy into a TXT file please:

Was the quorum or File Share Witness cleaned prior to standing up the new cluster?

Yes, the quorum disk volume of the previous cluster has been deleted as well as everything else.  Thanks again

The OU where cluster object resides has only the permission to create object for the current cluster object.  The previous cluster object is no where to be found.  Thanks
Virtual Machine Manager or other management software in the mix?

Do a Find in ADUC for CLUSTER_HV3 anything?
