Add-on-like device to Ring, need Wifi motion activated camera w/ chargeable battery

I wonder if there is an add-on-like device that could work in conjunction with or even just in addition to this slick new device by ring.com.

I knew I was going to enjoy this new digital doorbell by Ring but at $200 it took me a while to get there. Now, I am sure glad that I did!  This thing has some serious function built in. First of all, it was featured on Shark Tank and is incredibly well executed. What is not immediately apparent is what blew me away.  I expected it to be a camera and when a person presses the doorbell, you can see them and talk back to them from your phone. Pretty darn slick.

However, there is even more to it than that. They have cloud storage integrated ($3 mo) after the trial which makes it possible for it to record anytime it senses motion. There is no data storage limits that I know of to worry about. They have done all the heavy lifting and figured it out so that they can offer you a reasonable rate and done. Now you have a hidden camera in a sense because nobody expects it to be recording (audio and video no less), when it's supposed to just be a doorbell. Think of all the candid conversations one might hear say, 'outside of an office'.  I'm going to love this thing!

It will charge via USB or work with hard wiring.  I wonder how long the battery lasts?  I'd like to get a non-doorbell variety of exactly the same thing.

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

It is a pretty cool thing.

I wonder how long the battery lasts?

Yep, just a simple detach from the wall, plug it in to a micro usb cable for an hour or so and it's a done deal.  I put it up without ever charging it, and I'll bet it lasts longer than 6 mos.

It depends on what charger you have and whether the Add-on-like device allow input of 5V 2.1A.

Is there an indicator light on Add-on-like device for battery power level?
It's a good question but every new device I have seen in the last 5 years has been supportive of at least 2.1A.  Now the thing about plugging it into a laptop to charge it, is that it doesn't matter (I think), because those ports are capable of figuring it out and delivering the correct charge to the device.  Of'course I could be 100% wrong on that point. I'd be willing to bet though, that 2.1A is not a problem.
Anyway, the question was about an add-on device with the same motion sensitivity, but without the bell.

For smartphone, this statement is correct... but for powerbank, most are still 1A...

So, it depends on the circuit design and my wild guess is that it is 1A.

Yes, you are correct. You can make use of a laptop to charge it but it will take much longer unless your laptop has got a "Charging USB port" like the one in the link below.

Of course, it is better to use a standard 5V 2.1A charger with micro usb cable to charge the Add-on-like device.
I'd like to focus on the first sentence in this post if possible and see if we can get some suggestions "I wonder if there is an add-on-like device that could work in conjunction with or even just in addition to this slick new device by ring.com."
Only if ring.com offers such add on, you will not able to find one.
What do you want the add on to do?
i need wifi cam that has rechargeable battery via micro usb
Have you subscribed for the service from ring.com?
If yes, you can log in to yout account to see whether you can change any settings.

If no, forget about the add-ons as if ring.com does offer it, you are unlikely that you are allowed to add your own add-on.
Perhaps I should have said.

What is cost effective solution for a wifi camera that runs on batteries?  No bell, just a camera.  My hope was that ring had something but it appears they don't
