File Encryption

I need to encrypt folders on some Windows PCs.
I did a trial of Deslock and found that My Documents on Windows 7 CANNOT be encrypted.
Support said even though this was not a System folder it was considered a Root folder and therefore not encryptable.

Is this will ALL encryption software? or will some allow the encryption of My Documents?

Is this PC on a domain? Is the My Documents folder redirected to a share on a server?

No it is not on a domain and not redirected.
Have you tried bitlocker?

Bit locker is not included with Win 7 Pro
We use PGP at IBM, and our encryption software has to encrypt the My Documents folder. We are not allowed to leave the office with an unencrypted laptop.

Edward, I assume you are using full disk encryption which I don't want to use, I need to use File Folder encryption.
Thanks
Ahhhh. OK. I will look further into this for you.
How about this one, it looks easy to use too.

BL only does disk (not folder/file) encryption. Consider native Windows OS support for EFS

AxCrypt does file (not folder) encryption
Can I encrypt a whole folder instead of each file?
AxCrypt is a file encryption program, for better or worse. ... AxCrypt is intended for file encryption, and will likely stay that way. So, no, it's not possible to encrypt a whole folder with AxCrypt. In some cases, a hybrid approach is possible, where a zip archive is used to bundle files together, and then that zip-file is encrypted with AxCrypt.

Practices for EFS encrypt My Document by default
Encrypt the My Documents folder for all users (User_profile\My Documents). This makes sure that the personal folder, where most documents are stored, is encrypted by default.

However there is caveat
Only Professional/Business and Ultimate/Enterprise editions of Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 support file and folder encryption on NTFS file system. The feature is not available in Basic and Home editions, but you can still use encrypted files if you import the decryption certificate. FAT file systems and other file systems do not support Encrypting File System.

@Btan thanks for looking into my suggestion further. :)
