RHEL4 cannot rmmod spanapi26 Error: Snapapi26 module is in use

Long story short I need to uninstall this old version of Acronis including the snapapi26 kernel module to install a slightly newer version.  According to the instructions here: https://kb.acronis.com/content/15649 I do not have an acronis_mms or acronis_agent... but only the acronis_schedule processes.
Closing acronis_schedule does not allow me to remove snapapi..

[root@QADServer init.d]# sudo rmmod snapapi26
ERROR: Module snapapi26 is in use
[root@QADServer init.d]#

If I proceed down the list the do the dkms remove step.. would a reboot negate the need for the rmmod step?  I do not see any acronis processes in top either.

Thanks

Have you checked  who is using the module by "lsmod" command? If it is being used then remove the user module first.

I was able to figure it out.. basically lsmod was showing a Used By ==3.  3 turned out to be a couple other processes that for whatever reason would not show up in TOP.  Killing those allowed me to remove the module and reinstall the app.
