Windows Movie Maker 12

http://windows.microsoft.com/windows/movie-maker

Windows Movie Maker 12 is not supported for windows 10 and you may need to install it using the compatability wizard

any other good open source tool for this?

Use the link above to download inX Free Video Merger.
gudii9 I have windows 10 and windows moviemaker is nolonger supported, I downloaded it and installed it but runs like crap and the video is now choppy useless.
I have Cyberlink Director 10 ultra but that's expensive,
the simplest tool is  Freemake http://www.freemake.com/  << that's the Orange one Video converter
User generated imageChoose custom install as it has a couple of offers to untick twice which you need to note and decline  decline the browser add on aside from that it works brilliantly.
It can convert a DVD straight up, cut a video file and convert to a huge range of formats, and lastly join clips.
Drag and drop your video on and then click join at the top right
Then select your output it shows teh size of teh file when selecting different format I use either divx avi or mp4  and click convert, it shows a progressive bar and when it's done it tells you and you can choose to play it or open folder.

please advise
It seems the FREE version is a trial version - you are limited to a maximum length of 5 minutes.

I would follow Merete's advice and download Freemake Video Converter.

>> i checked looks like it has only for windows 32 bit not for windows 64 bit?

Just a note: 32 bit and 64 bit software will both work on 64 bit Windows, but 64 bit software will NOT work on the 32 bit version.

let me try
Avidemux (64-Bit)is a video editor designed for simple cutting, filtering and encoding tasks. It supports many file types, including AVI, DVD compatible MPEG files, MP4 and ASF, using a variety of codecs. Tasks can be automated using projects, job queue and powerful scripting capabilities. The program was written from scratch by Mean, but code from other people and projects has been used as well. Patches, translations and even bug reports are always welcome.

You can try the above free tool.

I have tried it and it is pretty easy to use.

Just run the app and drag it to either size of your screen and run Windows Explorer and browse to your .mp4 files. Select the Output format to your desired one and select the file one by one and drag and drop from Windows Explorer to the app.

After finishing drag and drop, click the Save button (as circled above) and you will be asked where to save the output video file.
@Merete

Thanks for your advice.
Hello, as I have said in my post. You should give a try on my suggestion. Adobe Premiere will do what you're asking even in trial mode.
