Sporadic user accounts locking out - 2003 AD functional level

Hi experts,
Having an issue that i'm trying to track down. User accounts sporadically locking up.

The environment is 2 2003 DC's and 2 2012 DC's. Functional level was still at 2003 however as I"m going through historical software and hardware and prepare to bump it up to 2012 functional level, but was under the impression that 2012 & 2003 DC's could play nicely so hadn't addressed yet. Anyway 2012 DC's have been installed and in place for about 10 months now.
Just recently had an issue arise where user accounts locking out and trying to see what's generating it.

Think it's some software on the network that is attempting a SSO but no proof yet although we do have current issue with Crystal Reports/Business Objects module that has been failing LDAP lookup/pass thru. It's installed on an internal server running Crystal so users can pull reports. They access via URL and SSO passes AD credentials thru.

Some users that have locked out stated they were not attempting to run reports however and it just happened.

Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated. ,

Thanks,
s

What Crystal software is installed?

Do you have an application that runs the reports or do you have Crystal Enterprise?

What version of Crystal?

mlmcc
Ms has an account lockout tool that can be used to identify the locking DC, and then have the security logs scoured to identify the source of the request...........

sorry for delay in reply, got held up on few things.

@mlmcc - version of Crystal was 2011 i believe, along with BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5.8.834 if that helps.

@arnold, yeah i thought I had seen that but hadn't tracked down the link to download.. do you have the link?

thanks,
