Solving an equation

I don't remember how to solve these kind of problems.

6 x^3 y^4 a^2
3 x^2 y^3 a^6

Can you please show me how to I add, subtract, multiply and divided these two equations? I am unsure how to handle exponents are different.

To add two expressions, keep in mind factoring:

For example:
x^3 + x^2 = x*x*x + x*x = x*(x*x) + (x*x) = x * x^2 + x^2 = x^2 * ( x + 1 )
Subtraction is similar to addition:

 For example:
 x^3 - x^2 = x*x*x - x*x = x*(x*x) - (x*x) = x * x^2 - x^2 = x^2 * ( x - 1 )
Division is similar to multiplication:

For example:
x^3      x*x*x         x                             x
----- = ----------- = -------  = x,    since   ----- = 1 (i.e., the x's cancel)
x^2      x*x             1                             x
