generating access backups from within the system/VBA
We have an access 2010 database hosted on a windows 2008 R2 file share. We dont have any sort of admin access of the server itself to configure any sort of scheduled tasks. I wondered if there is any clever way via VBA/Access, for it to automatically create a backup of the BE database and write it to a file share and path of our chosing, with the backup file simply named with the original filename plus a timestamp at the end.
Ideally I want a fully automated process whereby it stores the previous 5 days worth of backups on this file share, then once 5 days are up it replaces the oldest backup with the latest days backup, so we always have 5 days worth of backups on the file share. Is this do-able from within Access/VBA, or does it need to be done via a process/application on the server's OS?
