Some users unable to access company website due to internal domain and website domain being the same.
Hi,
This appears to be a DNS issue but I don't know how to resolve it -basically the internal domain is for eg 1234.ie and the company's website is 1234.ie also - internal DNS appears to be confused and often brings up the IIS config page when users try to connect to the company's website - this is causing a lot of disruption - can you suggest a workaround please?

Can't you just make a www entry in the local DNS and point it to the external web page?
Cisco ASAs support DNS doctoring. This is what you need. There is no need to have to specify a specific host name for sites hosted internally but reachable externally.
If you don't have an ASA, see if your firewall vendor supports this option.
