wsus server on current network ?
Hi Experts,
I have
ESXi Cluster and many virtual Servers:
Domain Controller -Windows 2008 (DNS,GPO,DHCP etc)
file Server - Windows 2008
MSSQL Server - Windows 2008
200 Clients - win 7 64 bit
I am new IT in my Company ,old IT had not wsus Server. I plan to install and configure wsus Server at my Network.
i configured a new VM Server (Windows 2012) and plan to install wsus Server.
1. How can i install wsus on win 2012.?
2. How can configure wsus Server ?
2. can effect running production Network during Installation or after installation?, i do not want something happend on the running Network.

WSUS is a small service, with small consumption of resources but it has a few minimal requirements, such as these:
>> Disk space to storage all the updates: Typically 150 GB is good enough, but in your case, this can be more (or less) depending the classes you have selected on the Products and Classifications options.
>> RAM: Usually the most important chunk of memory is used on the WSUS Database Engine. If you use the Windows Internal Database (WID) then reserve at least 2GB of RAM on WSUS server, else you will be using a dedicated SQL server that I assume it has already all needed RAM.

2 Just select the applications you want, like windows 7, server, office, and all patch you want.
i use a gpo to my client now where is WSUS.

You can select wich time you want to deploy the patchs, so avoid busy hours.
