Vmware 6.0 change datastore
Hi,
I need to change datastore of a VM with several virtual disks (total: about 1 TB).
Present datastore has VMFS3, the new one has VMFS5.
My question is: if I move this virtual machine to a new lun (on new datastore), all virtual disks will be "merged" in one unique (bigger) virtual disk?
Thank you

Hi Andrew,
so, if I have VM with
virtual disk n.1 = 100 GB on datastore1
virtual disk n.2 = 100 GB on datastore 2
virtual disk n.3 = 50 GB on datastore1
and I move VM to datastore 3, I'll have all disks (n.1, n.2 and n.3) on datastore 4.
Correct?

yes sorry, just a typo :)
no problems
No, this will not happen, the virtual disks will remain. So if you currently have 3 virtual disks, on datastore1, and move the VM to datastore2, the VM will still have 3 virtual disks, they will not merge, the objects will remain the same.
