Errors regarding having too large of Outlook space utilization/Outlook 2016 .OST file size limit

Is there a limit on how large a user's Outlook 2016 .OST file can get?

An Office 365 user who has full delegation to 7 other user's mailboxes within Outlook reports that he been receiving error messages regarding having too large of Outlook space utilization.

He hasn't been able to take any screenshots and I haven't seen this error message yet.

I checked and the user's mailbox as well as all of the additional 7 other mailboxes are well below the 50 GB Office 365 storage capacity limit.

The user's operating system is Windows 7 64-bit. All of the latest Windows and Office updates have been installed.

So can this error message be attributed to the user's .OST file size being too big or what else might be causing this error message?
