Connect Samsung S5 to PC via USB
I'm trying to run Samsung Smart Switch to move my phone content to another (Samsung S5) phone. Have used Smart Switch before without any problems. Now it seems like the PC doesn't recognize the phone. Have set the USB connection to MTP, but it doesn't eves show up in Windows explorere (Win7). If switching the phone USB to PTP mode it shows in explorer, but Smart Switch requires MTP.
Any ideas how I can make the phone and PC to recognize each other and be able to run Smart Switch?

Tried different cables and usb ports. Same result.
Where do I find the Samsung mobile drivers for S5 (mini and neo)?

Have downloaded Kies. Still doesn't work....
Tried to switch connection mode to PTP. Kies recognizes this, and tells me to switch to MTP, When doing this, Kies recognizes it, but reports that the connection to phone is broken. Also re-installed driver (in Kies), but still same result.... Any more ideas? Read something about problems if there are file names on the phone with many characters as the file type....??

make sure the "usb debugging mode" is disable

Have to admit that I don't know where to find this setting.....
goto settings > more tab > developer option > usb debug
ASKER
Found it - usb debugging is / was disabled.
There is no need to enable usb debugging.
Goto Device Manager and see whether your S5 is listed as an unknown / problem device.
If yes, remove the device, restart computer without attaching your S5.
On restart, the device driver for your S5 will be reinstalled.

Thanks!
Downloaded the usb driver, but still no success (and Win update even insisted on downloading a new driver...).
Found the an app on the phone (My Phone Explorer) that I use to synch contacts and messages via WiFi also "grabbed" the USB port. Stopping that app made Smart Swithc work.
Thanks for all answers!
