Importing VHDX into HyperV

User generated imageUser generated imageUser generated imageHi,

 I like to move a physical SBS2011 (with two partitions) into HyperV.  I ran Disk2vhd software to create, I thought, a single vhdx file. But as you can see in the screenshot, it created three vhdx files.
 Let me explain the screenshots:
 (1) On a physical SBS2011, I have C drive for OS, E and F contain Data. But I am NOT going to move the data from F drive. So I am only interested in moving C drive (120GB/196GB total) and E drive (764GB/1.08TB total).
 (2) So on Disk2vhd program, I selected System Reserved (100MB), C drive (196.98GB) and E drive (1116.81GB).
 When I finished creating vhdx file, now I see three of them instead of one.

  1. Why did it create three instead of one?
  2. I can see that PDxxxK1-0.VHDX was  for OS/C Drive, PDxxxK1-1.VHDX was for Data/E drive, but what was  PDxxxK1-4.VHDX for?
  3. In creating a virtual mahine, I am going to select PDxxxK1-0.VHDX and choose existing hard drive in VM creating process. Once that is completed, how do I bring in PDxxxK1-1.VHDX as E drive into the same virtual machine?
  4. Why did it skip the number 0, 1 and 4, missing 2 & 3?

Thanks for clarifying the difference between DISK and Partition.
My intention was to use Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter to do the job, but I ran into multiple errors using  when I used Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter per EE article #: 28951386 and no expert was able to help me. So I used Disk2vhd  as a last resort. In fact I tried to move multiple Windows 7 standalone PCs to VM in HyperV using MS VM Converter, but I failed to do it. But using Disk2vhd, I was able to move just OS partition (C: drive) out of another SBS2011 into virtual machine in test Hyper-V. So  this time, I wanted to grab OS drive and Data Drive and move them at the same time.

@Lee
(1) "FOR EDUCATIONAL purposes, you simply add a SCSI controller to the VM and then add the other VHDs as additional hard drives attached to the SCSI controller." ---> That worked. I was able to add additional VHDX files successfully.
(2) "Get some training, MANY hours of practice in a lab environment," --> That is exactly what I am doing.
(3) "you should be aware that Disk2VHD is NOT a supported method of P2V" --> I used Disk2VHD  and it worked well so far. What kind of problems did you have using Disk2VHD ? The reason I used Disk2VHD was because I have not been able to use Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter successfully yet.

To all experts:
I have set up another test Hyper-V server, so I will give Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter another shot this week.
