I am new to SCCM 2012, but have done some research before posting this question and not found a definite answer.<br />

Here is the situation. We are using SCCM 2012 and need to install/upgrade an application (VMTools on VMware VMs) within the same maintenance window that Microsoft security patches get applied. Can these be sequenced so the VMTools completes before Windows patching begins?<br />

This article (<a href="https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh846237.aspx" rel="ugc">https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh846237.aspx</a>) refers to a task sequence but covers installing from the OS up to applications. Maybe these subsets (Install Application, Package, and Software Updates) can be used without building a whole OS?<br />
