Adaptec 8k on x3650 Raid 5 fail- raid volume shows critical

I have a 3 member Raid 5 set, Seagate SAS 3.5" drives on a Thinkserver x3650. A 2tb total volume.  Without any indicators the data volume dismounted. Only 1 member of the trio is showing in Raid bios configuration, however the day prior i had 2 members showing and had an amber light on the bad drive.  I did a press Ctrl-R to force a rebuild/force online. And i saw it come back into Windows. I tried doing a file copy and the folders disappeared again.

So after that one force rebuild the volume disappeared, i inserted a larger drive to see if it would self repair however raid bos did not see
the volume after that.

I see there are activity lights on all the drives so i'd rather not force with ctrl-r if not.  The volume is not displaying in windows server os yet so i'm guessing that the 2 good drives may be trying to rebuild? The bad drive is still in there.  I placed a larger drive to replace the bad and the raid bios downgraded the size to match the specs of the other 2.  however i did see any indication that a rebuild was happening. in fact i lost the raid entry when you view manage raid sets.  so i put back the bad drive.

After i put back the bad drive, adaptec raid manager sees the raid volume but reports to me that it only sees one member.  I did not try a
ctrl-r force rebuild again.

any advice please?

I'm looking to source a SAS cage to plug the drives into another host so that i may image the 2 or 3 and try software reconstruction.
I have timely backups however there was one folder that was explicitly secured so my backup agent could not get access to it and hence now i'm going all in for recovery.

dlethe,

On the force rebuild, well there was no indicator that the raid was rebuilding, no health status, nada, when i put in the replacement drive. what was i supposed to do?  this is not my first time around a raid cage, one bad drive-you pop in another, its supposed to rebuild yet adaptec wasn't telling me anything in the utility.
You were supposed to go to a data recovery firm.   Multiple drive failures can not be fixed by forcing a rebuild.
