In the end I found the install media and just did a repair and that seemed to fix it. I wasn't able to find it before so I was looking for all and any solutions. Thanks

So Excel 2010 is crashing when saving, but not always. <br />
First it only does it on certain files. Nothing special about the files. They are pretty basic.<br />
If I save them as .xls they always work, but crash when saved as .xlsx or .xlsb<br />
Also if I run Excel as admin it does not crash on save.<br />

Tried different locations on local and remote hard drive thinking maybe an issue with issue with that.

So Excel 2010 is crashing when saving, but not always.
