Network Opened Files : Script or Tool without Server access

Hi,

we have many users who share the same folders and files on the Network. it happneds often that these users work on the same file and sometimes they can't open a file because it is opened by another one who just forgot to close it.

These users sent always request to our Admin NT to just provide them with the info regarding who is opening the file now and in some cases he will force close it via the Win Server 2008 Mgmt Console.

Now, we want to purchase or to develop a small tool that we can install on any computer and that can show for any NT file if it is open by another person and in that case the name of that person. We found some tools like http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/network_opened_files.html but it is not working well and require the admin access on Network for this ...

We are asking is there a is a way to develop a code even with CommandShel that help giving this info for anyone or if there is any other tool help getting this info without bothering our Admin NT

Thanks
