Export content of emails to Word document

I have emails downloaded to Outlook 2016 (windows). I am trying to estimate the amount of time spent reading emails which contain certain keywords as well as the amount of time spent writing emails which contain certain keywords.

I have worked out the reading and typing cpm so now I just need to find a way to be able to get word counts out of the emails. My thinking had been find a way to bulk export emails to a text document and then calculate things from there. So process would be:

1. Filter/search inside Outlook for keywords
2. Export emails containing keywords into one document (I assume this is possible?)
3. Character count inside word
4. Report figures in an excel document by keyword

Therefore the part I need help with is the 2nd point. Getting the emails exported, into 1 document, with no email details such as sent to, received from, date, etc.

I would even be willing to pay for someone to assist if it could be automated in some way.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You can export an email to MHT format and open that in Word. Text is text, pictures are embedded graphics. Try it.

Try the following to automate the process.

http://www.outlookextractor.com/2013/02/convert-outlook-email-text.html
Hello,
To manually Convert PST file into TXT format:
1. Select your E-mail or data item from Inbox.
2. Go to File >> Save As >> save the file with .txt extension.
3. A single file of txt format will get created.

To automatically filter emails and export to word follow the steps:
1. In Outlook, Go to File Tab >>Select  Manage Rules and alerts.
2. Choose New Rule >> Select conditions( to select a specific word or keyword) and edit rule description
This will move filtered emails to different folder.

Then you can use the following tool that will quickly import emails to MHT, TXT. Since the manual methods require a lot of effort to export each email and filter them. I believe this is an efficient way for conversion. Please refer the following link.

Hopefully, this will solve your problem

OK. Trying both options tomorrow so shall see how I go. THanks
Unfortunately neither solution has worked as I need to export only the body of the email.
Then there is no automation to do what you want. You will have to copy and paste manually.

Shall try that Alexei... can you confirm that it will not pick up the email trail and only the body of the single email? Thanks
First utility will export emails to plain text including headers. But the later batch script will the rest: it will take bodies only.
Thanks Alexei
